What is a vehicle subscription?

Think of it as a month-to-month car lease with no strings attached. The car is 100% yours, delivered to your door and all insurance, registration, taxes, maintenance and cleaning are taken care of. Our goal is to provide flexibility relative to traditional car ownership / leasing, and affordability relative to long term rentals. You can cancel at any time with 30 days notice.

How does insurance work?

All our cars come with an insurance package included. This package covers all drivers on your Condor account, with a $1000 deductible for any claims. Some rental car companies charge an additional $10 / day or more for insurance, but rest assured you'll be covered with Condor Detroit.

How does mileage work?

When selecting your car, you have the option of 3 mileage packages (500, 1000, or 1500 per month). Your mileage will be calculated as an average of the duration you subscribe to a vehicle (e.g. if you subscribe to a car for 2 months with 500 miles per month, you could drive the car for 750 miles in the first month, and 250 miles the second month with no penalty). Any mileage above the total for the duration of your subscription will be billed at $.50/mile.

Can I switch my package or car?

You can switch your package at any time by logging into your Condor account. Please note all changes (e.g. vehicle type/tier and mileage) require 30 days notice at a minimum before they take effect. If you would like to change your vehicle within the same package (e.g. different model), we will do our best to accommodate your request as quickly as possible and as per vehicle availability.

Can I select a specific car?

Our model is configured for customization, so you can select a vehicle tier (Executive, Premier or Choice) and model type (Sedan, SUV, etc.). While we do accept and do our best to accommodate specific requests (e.g. make, model, color, features, etc…), we cannot guarantee a specific vehicle. However, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee - if you are unhappy with your vehicle for any reason, we'll either swap you into something you prefer or give you your money back.

How do I return my car?

You can cancel your subscription at any time with the click of a button when logging into your account. You will then schedule a pick-up for us to retrieve the vehicle. We require 30 days notice for any cancellations. You do have the option to return a vehicle earlier if you prefer at no charge.

How does maintenance (e.g. oil changes work)?

We do our best to conduct maintenance when the cars are between subscribers, however it may occur that we need to do maintenance while you are in possession of a car. In the event this happens, we will reach out to you to schedule a time to pick up the car, and will provide a loaner to you until we return the car.

What types of vehicles can I expect?

Our vehicles depend on the tier you select. Our Executive tier contains new luxury models from the current model year and last 24 months. Our Premier tier contains new standard models from the current model year and last 24 months. And our Choice tier contains meticulously maintained used vehicles. All our cars are super clean, constantly cared for and feel like new.

How does payment work?

All you need is a credit card. We will set up a recurring payment through your account when you sign up. Any billing changes can be made by logging into your account.

Are there any driver restrictions?

Drivers must be 21 years of age and have a good driving record. Members may also be subject to a background check.

Are there any restrictions on Condor vehicles?

Our requirements are very similar to a traditional lease. Condor vehicles may only be driven in the US and cannot be taken on dangerous terrain or race tracks. Pets are allowed in Condor vehicles, however you will be responsible for cleaning after your furry friends.

What happens if something is wrong with my car?

This is rare, but if it does happen, just log into your account and let us know. We’ll immediately bring you an alternate vehicle and take care of the issue.

What do I do in the event of an accident?

Don’t worry, we are here for you! First make sure everyone is safe and notify authorities, and subsequently notify us. We will provide you with an alternate vehicle while yours is being fixed.

How does the security deposit work?

We require a $500 security deposit to use Condor, which is fully refundable upon return of the car, provided there are no damages or other costs incurred.

Do I get charged for fuel if the car isn’t returned full?

We record the fuel level every time we drop off a car and ask that you ensure the car is at the same fuel level when we pick it up. If you didn’t have a chance to fill up, not a problem, we will take care of it and bill you directly at local rates.

How is Condor different from a rental car?

While rental car companies offer long term rentals, their costs can often exceed $1,000/month, not including insurance. Our model is focused on providing affordable monthly access to a car, with the convenience of home delivery and bundled insurance.

Can I get a car for a customized period of time?

Yes! Our typical minimum term is 1 month (30 days), but you can keep the car for any amount of time. If you need something shorter, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. When service is required, we will let you know and provide a loaner. If you need to cancel for any reason, just give us 30 days notice and we'll take care of it.
